The audience thought a goal was coming when Henrique Breckenfeld got free with Alessandro Prata in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 14 minutes into the game, Roger Linhares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Flora SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Esporte Clube Vitória the free kick. Roger Linhares hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Jailson Prestes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antônio Paiva having to interfere. A collision led to Esporte Clube Vitória getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Márcio do Nascimento hit a great ball. In the 18th minute Jailson Prestes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jailson Prestes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alessandro Prata made an important save on a dangerous shot by Henrique Breckenfeld in the 22nd minute. After 22 played minutes Flora SS got a freekick which was hit by Sidnei de Queirós. Eriberto Linares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Antônio Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Antônio Paiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eriberto Linares, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. If Eriberto Linares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flora SS's Eriberto Linares got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jailson Prestes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Antônio Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Antônio Paiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eriberto Linares in the 37th minute of the match. Henrique Breckenfeld received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Alessandro Prata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Esporte Clube Vitória's Henrique Breckenfeld came free and shot a quick shot against goal 47 minutes in the game, fortunately Alessandro Prata had problems saving as it came toward the left post.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kauan Porto was the one to do the kick off. Jailson Prestes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 52 played minutes Esporte Clube Vitória got a freekick which was hit by Emílio Alagoano. In the 55th minute of the match Flora SS got a corner. Esporte Clube Vitória's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nildo Luz ran over to the corner to take the kick. Nildo Luz made a great header on Flora SS's corner, it was just that Esporte Clube Vitória's Antônio Paiva managed to reach the ball for a save. After 56 minutes, Emílio Alagoano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Esporte Clube Vitória and the Flora SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. 73 minutes into the match, Flora SS's goal looked a bit too open when Henrique Breckenfeld came free, but Alessandro Prata reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 78 minutes into the game, Esporte Clube Vitória's Henrique Breckenfeld nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alessandro Prata made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Antônio Paiva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eriberto Linares's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jailson Prestes in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Antônio Paiva saved Esporte Clube Vitória from getting behind. If Henrique Breckenfeld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henrique Breckenfeld sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
