Ponta Grossa F.C's Wellington Zanette played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Simão in the 4th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 8 minutes, Wellington Zanette successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 11th minute, Adilson Sergipano had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Samuca Valle during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Filipe de Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Yuri Mendes hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute, Dalmo de Alcântara ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wellington Zanette was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Dalmo de Alcântara let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 34th minute shot 2-0 at rihgt post. José Pedro Damião showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jailson Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 47 minutes into the match, Ponta Grossa F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Dalmo de Alcântara came free, but Wellington Zanette reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dalmo de Alcântara was the one to do the kick off. When Amarantina EC's Téo Barros in 54 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Wellington Zanette guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. After 54 minutes, Téo Barros made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Ponta Grossa F.C's Wellington Zanette tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Filipe de Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 71 minutes into the game, Júnior Nunes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. José Pedro Damião was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Kauan Sarmento fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ponta Grossa F.C's protests and gave Kauan Sarmento a yellow card for diving instead. Kauan Sarmento hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. José Pedro Damião came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Ponta Grossa F.C's Filipe de Sousa. But to his dismay, Filipe de Sousa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Filipe de Sousa in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Pedro Damião saved Amarantina EC from getting behind. Filipe de Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. José Pedro Damião tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Amarantina EC's zone, Filipe de Sousa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Pedro Damião came out of the goal and Filipe de Sousa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dalmo de Alcântara hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match.
