Galileia FC's Álvaro Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinei de Moraes in the 42nd minute of play. In the 44th minute Claudinei de Moraes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Álvaro Gerber saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Claudinei de Moraes was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, S.E. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tim Ferm got free with Yan Teles in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cido Capixaba hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Álvaro Gerber stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claudinei de Moraes's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. After 85 minutes, Cido Capixaba mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Galileia FC and the S.E. Palestra Itália players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Galileia FC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Cido Capixaba hit a great ball. 87 minutes into the match, S.E. Palestra Itália's goalkeeper Yan Teles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robinho Mineiro. The crowd rose to their feet as Robinho Mineiro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Yan Teles. That made the score 0-3 in the 87 minute of play. S.E. Palestra Itália's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Fernandão Pernambucano 92 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-4. If Robinho Mineiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Galileia FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
