Burieta SS's Pedrão Bastos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Burieta SS from getting a goal against them. Claudinho Melo hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. A collision led to Burieta SS getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Lino Neves hit a great ball. Cipriano Tasso took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 28th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Pedrão Bastos. Burieta SS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Leonel de Barros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rubinho Gonçalves hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Perivaldo Alvarenga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudinho Melo in the 35th minute of the match. If Claudinho Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Rodolfo Antunes fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caruaru City's protests and gave Rodolfo Antunes a yellow card for diving instead. After 42 minutes Caruaru City's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Wilson Souza who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Burieta SS's corner Wilson Souza fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Perivaldo Alvarenga quite easily take care of the ball. Breno Arce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Perivaldo Alvarenga having to interfere. Rodolfo Antunes was shown his second yellow card after 45 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Rodolfo Antunes hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Perivaldo Alvarenga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudinho Melo in the 64th minute of the match. 65 minutes into the game, Claudinho Melo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Perivaldo Alvarenga. Claudinho Melo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Perivaldo Alvarenga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Breno Arce in the 71st minute. In the 72nd minute, Claudinho Melo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
