Spectators: 6600 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Horácio Mazza started the match with the kick off. E.C SM's Igor Pernambucano got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 7 minutes of play, E.C SM's Horácio Mazza made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emanuel Guerra was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nicolas Pinho came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Meireles FC's Haroldo Barreto. But to his dismay, Haroldo Barreto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Nicolas Pinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Pedro Almeida in the 13th minute of the match. Zé Pedro Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 18 minutes of play, Meireles FC's Haroldo Barreto made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nicolas Pinho was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 21st minute Haroldo Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolas Pinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gino Alagoano charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gino Alagoano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Meireles FC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Gino Alagoano hit a great ball. Nicolas Pinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haroldo Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Meireles FC booed when E.C SM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Pedro Pires didn't get a good kick on the ball. E.C SM's Nicolas Pinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Pedro Almeida in the 40th minute of play. A collision led to Meireles FC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Mazinho Ortiz hit a great ball. Haroldo Barreto kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. After 46 played minutes Meireles FC got a freekick which was hit by Gil Vinhas. Amílton de Medeiros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half Meireles FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zé Pedro Almeida stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nicolas Pinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gino Alagoano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st minute, Marcos Trigo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Haroldo Barreto made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 64thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Nicolas Pinho would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. With a little luck, E.C SM's Nicolas Pinho got control of the ball when Haroldo Barreto tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 70 minutes, Horácio Mazza made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. Meireles FC's Emanuel Guerra tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Nicolas Pinho made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Haroldo Barreto sent off a good shot on target. Horácio Mazza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Guerra having to interfere. The supporters of E.C SM booed when Meireles FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Didi Paes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Horácio Mazza struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Emanuel Guerra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for E.C SM. After 85 minutes of play Meireles FC's Gino Alagoano was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 85th minute, Gino Alagoano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Igor Pernambucano came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the E.C SM fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Igor Pernambucano couldn't finish the play. In the 90th minute, Haroldo Barreto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Meireles FC's Zé Pedro Almeida got a free kick in the 91st minute. Haroldo Barreto was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 93rd minute. Meireles FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When Eliézer Mangueira fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored E.C SM's protests and gave Eliézer Mangueira a yellow card for diving instead. Eliézer Mangueira kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in E.C SM's zone, Gil Vinhas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicolas Pinho came out of the goal and Gil Vinhas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
