With a left leg Ademar Antunes saved Parahyba from getting behind. In the 9th minute, Teodoro Valladares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Parahyba fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. If Gilberto Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lucas Teixeira during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 40 minutes into the match, Lucas Teixeira notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Parahyba's Ademar Antunes. Ademar Antunes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Parahyba's Teodoro Valladares got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Falcão de Senna came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Parahyba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Falcão de Senna couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Manuel Silva's late challenge caught a Umber FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manuel Silva helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Parahyba getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Manuel Silva hit a great ball. Ademar Antunes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilberto Ferreira's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Falcão de Senna in the 56th minute of play forced Umber FC's goalkeeper Rafael Meireles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ademar Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernandinho Brito in the 58th minute of play. Dagoberto Ferraz charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dagoberto Ferraz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rafael Meireles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teodoro Valladares in the 62nd minute of the match. If Falcão de Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 68 played minutes Umber FC got a freekick which was hit by Nico Mineiro. Wilian Baptista hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Rafael Meireles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teodoro Valladares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Parahyba's Ademar Antunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilberto Ferreira in the 77th minute of play. In the 79th minute, Gilberto Ferreira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Falcão de Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 82 minutes, Diogo Tinoco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Umber FC and the Parahyba players grew even worse after the yellow card. Diogo Tinoco kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Rafael Meireles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Falcão de Senna in the 83rd minute of the match. Gilberto Ferreira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ademar Antunes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. Jean Goiano hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Umber FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
