Torre's supporters crossed their fingers, but Davi Xavier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 8 minutes into the match, Chelsea's goal looked a bit too open when Davi Xavier came free, but Andrézinho Soares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Andrézinho Soares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davi Xavier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Davi Xavier took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Andrézinho Soares. Andrézinho Soares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Andrézinho Soares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonardo Moreira in the 21st minute of play. Chelsea's Andrézinho Soares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonardo Moreira in the 24th minute of play. Teodoro Vasconcelos charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Teodoro Vasconcelos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Torre booed when Chelsea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodoro Vasconcelos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Chelsea's zone, Davi Xavier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andrézinho Soares came out of the goal and Davi Xavier tried to chip the ball over his head. Andrézinho Soares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Davi Xavier in the 34th minute of play. If Leonardo Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. With a little luck, Chelsea's Andrézinho Soares got control of the ball when Sílvio Luiz de Castro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Andrézinho Soares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Davi Xavier in the 61st minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Torre's Allan Amaral slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Andrézinho Soares. That made the score 0-2 after 68 minutes of play. In the 79th match minute, Chelsea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodoro Vasconcelos to maneuver through the defense. 0-3 came in the 82nd minute when Olavo Sá all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Andrézinho Soares. Torre's Allan Amaral got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chelsea's goalkeeper Andrézinho Soares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Chelsea's zone, Allan Amaral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andrézinho Soares came out of the goal and Allan Amaral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dedé Ceresso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastião Pinheiro in the 95th minute of the match. Chelsea's Noel Secco got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Torre's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
