A very good chance. After 14 played minutes Parahyba got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Silva. In the 18th minute Falcão de Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dedé Ceresso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute, Allan Amaral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leonardo Moreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ademar Antunes having to interfere. Parahyba's Osmar Toledo shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 38th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Dedé Ceresso but with some difficulty. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Parahyba's Falcão de Senna in the 39th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Dedé Ceresso was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Torre through an amazing save. After having played for 45 minutes, Didi de Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Torre's supporters crossed their fingers, but Didi de Lara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Sílvio Luiz de Castro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Torre's supporters rose to their feet, but Sílvio Luiz de Castro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ademar Antunes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leonardo Moreira made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Leonardo Moreira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
