Simão de Senna who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 11thth minute tested the skills of Andrézinho Soares when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Teodoro Vasconcelos kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Simão de Senna got free with Andrézinho Soares in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Andrézinho Soares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sidnei Souto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The nice shot from Simão de Senna in the 20thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Andrézinho Soares had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 71 played minutes Chelsea got a freekick which was hit by Luís Guilherme Damião. After a defensive mix-up in Chelsea's zone, Sidnei Souto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andrézinho Soares came out of the goal and Sidnei Souto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Simão de Senna put it in 7-0 from a short distance just to the right of Andrézinho Soares. Andrézinho Soares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidnei Souto in the 77th minute of play. After 82 minutes, Simão de Senna made it 8-0 with a short kick to the right side.
