The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Carlos Fernando Lira hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. The referee gave Biruleibe FC a penalty, 5 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Valério Duarte, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Arrebol SS's Mário Trancoso. 0-1. In the 7th minute, Basílio Paraibano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mário Trancoso was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 21stth minute of the game Basílio Paraibano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Arrebol SS's Mário Trancoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Carlos Fernando Lira lost his temper 23 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 23rd minute, one of Arrebol SS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Arrebol SS. In the 25th minute there was a penalty for Biruleibe FC. Valério Duarte stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Mário Trancoso. 0-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Basílio Paraibano in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mário Trancoso saved Arrebol SS from getting behind. Mário Trancoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basílio Paraibano in the 34th minute of play. After 35 played minutes Arrebol SS got a freekick which was hit by Tadeu Schmidt. Basílio Paraibano took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mário Trancoso. Mário Trancoso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. After 47 played minutes Biruleibe FC got a freekick which was hit by Diego Lima. Márcio Varela struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Raimundo Sena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arrebol SS.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Basílio Paraibano to strike the kick off in the second half. Márcio Varela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raimundo Sena having to interfere. Biruleibe FC's Raimundo Sena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Márcio Varela in the 57th minute of play. Fabinho Araújo scored 0-5 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mário Trancoso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Valério Duarte took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 64th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mário Trancoso. Arrebol SS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Fabinho Araújo put it in 0-6 from a short distance just to the right of Mário Trancoso. If Basílio Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd match minute, Arrebol SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diamantino Zonta to maneuver through the defense. Mário Trancoso made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Fabinho Araújo sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Basílio Paraibano took a quick shot and it went in 0-7 without a chance for Mário Trancoso to make any attempt to save it. After some careless play in the Biruleibe FC defense, Márcio Varela kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Raimundo Sena. The Biruleibe FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Raimundo Sena should have stopped the shot. Márcio Varela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Biruleibe FC's Douglas Neto got a free kick in the 88th minute. The Arrebol SS fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Biruleibe FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
