Spectators: 7537 (Terracing: 5650, Seating: 1737, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rafa Pirani started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute Ivan Ivanov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tarcisio Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Ipanema SS booed when Flamengo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Feliciano Rocendo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 9th minute, Rafa Pirani left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ipanema SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 13th minute Rafa Pirani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cléberson Paraíba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 14th minute of the match Ipanema SS got a corner. Flamengo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rafa Pirani ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 15th minute, João Vítor Cerezo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 16th minute, Rafa Pirani ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cléberson Paraíba was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Cléberson Paraíba came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Ipanema SS's Roberto Varela. But to his dismay, Roberto Varela quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Axel Odman got free with Tarcisio Amaral in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Axel Odman took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Tarcisio Amaral to make any attempt to save it. Benedito Braga succeeded in the game's 24th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-3. Tarcisio Amaral made an important save on a dangerous shot by Axel Odman in the 36th minute. Rafa Pirani took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cléberson Paraíba. Cléberson Paraíba dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-4. 40 minutes into the game, Patrick Ortiz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ipanema SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Flamengo the free kick. A collision led to Ipanema SS getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Patrick Ortiz hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Flamengo's Benedito Braga slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tarcisio Amaral. That made the score 5-4 after 42 minutes of play. In the 47th match minute, Ipanema SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Remo Secco to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Tarcisio Amaral was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tarcisio Amaral was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tarcisio Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Göran Lundström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Rafa Pirani fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ipanema SS's protests and gave Rafa Pirani a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Ipanema SS's Rafa Pirani got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 67th minute Benedito Braga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tarcisio Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 67 minutes into the game, Flamengo's Benedito Braga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ipanema SS were furious when Paulo José Diniz was red carded, 87 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 86th minute of the game. One of Ipanema SS:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Flamengo:s goal. The referee gave Flamengo a penalty, 89 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gil Donatello, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ipanema SS's Tarcisio Amaral. 11-4. In the 92nd minute, Axel Odman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tarcisio Amaral was frozen by the shot and now it was 12-4. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Vítor Cerezo in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tarcisio Amaral saved Ipanema SS from getting behind. Rui Trigo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
