After 3 minutes, Marcos Fonseca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ilha dos Frades and the S.E.R Mergulhão - RS players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 3rd minute, Marcos Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jean Lopes came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by S.E.R Mergulhão - RS's Zekai Tefhim. But to his dismay, Zekai Tefhim quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Manfred Låsberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulão da Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Hamdullah Olgunsoy came free with the goalkeeper in the 17th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jean Lopes could save by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tiaguinho Soeiro got free with Jean Lopes in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 27 minutes into the game, Dedé Mello cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Jean Lopes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Zekai Tefhim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcelinho Lira kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Durval Arantes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Silvério Tepedino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 42nd minute, Tiaguinho Soeiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jean Lopes was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. The supporters of Ilha dos Frades booed when S.E.R Mergulhão - RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artur Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Silvério Tepedino to make the kick off. Raphael Loyola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Manfred Låsberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raphael Loyola recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 55 minutes, Silvério Tepedino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ilha dos Frades's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvério Tepedino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hamdullah Olgunsoy in the 60th minute of play forced Ilha dos Frades's goalkeeper Jean Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 61 minutes, André Luiz Pitta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. S.E.R Mergulhão - RS's supporters crossed their fingers, but André Luiz Pitta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 62nd minute, Tiaguinho Soeiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S.E.R Mergulhão - RS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. Jean Lopes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiaguinho Soeiro in the 66th minute of play. When Sidnei Correia fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ilha dos Frades's protests and gave Sidnei Correia a yellow card for diving instead. Felipe Valladares kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. 77 minutes in the game José de Almeida did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Raphael Loyola. Jean Lopes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zekai Tefhim went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. When S.E.R Mergulhão - RS's Tiaguinho Soeiro in the 91st minute got a chance for a shot 91st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ilha dos Frades's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiaguinho Soeiro in the 94th minute of play forced Ilha dos Frades's goalkeeper Jean Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the S.E.R Mergulhão - RS players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
