In the 67th minute Naldo Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean Lopes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Muricizinho's zone, Sidnei Correia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Maria Azevedo came out of the goal and Sidnei Correia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Raphael Loyolas short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got José Maria Azevedo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Muricizinho's Geraldo Gaúcho got a free kick in the 77th minute. With a little luck, Muricizinho's José Maria Azevedo got control of the ball when Silvério Tepedino tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ilha dos Frades's Paulão da Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 81 played minutes Muricizinho got a freekick which was hit by Gino Dias. In the 83rd minute Silvério Tepedino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Maria Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Muricizinho booed when Ilha dos Frades was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sidnei Correia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jean Lopes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 96 minutes into the match, Ilha dos Frades's goal looked a bit too open when Michel Soares came free, but Jean Lopes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Muricizinho's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
