After a rather tough play, Muricizinho's Geraldo Gaúcho got a free kick in the 19th minute. Víktor Furlan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Geraldo Gaúcho kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 40th match minute, Muricizinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geraldo Gaúcho to maneuver through the defense. José Maria Azevedo made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Doni Vasconcelos sent off a good shot on target. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Naldo Soares was the one to do the kick off. In the 61st minute Naldo Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danton Christini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, Waldir Velasco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of José Maria Azevedo. Muricizinho's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Waldir Velasco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Michel Soares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Danton Christini made a huge save. After 66 minutes, Roger Negri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AD Jequieense and the Muricizinho players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Muricizinho booed when AD Jequieense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Negri didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 69th minute, Lech Polek got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. José Maria Azevedo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eliseo Sandalio went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. AD Jequieense's Armando Jacinto was substituted for Eliseo Sandalio. Roger Negri kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Lech Polek managed to get in a good position for a shot.
