Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Thiago Leão kicked off to start the match. César Meirelles came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by SÃO PAULO FUTEBOL CLUBE's Tales Oliveira. But to his dismay, Tales Oliveira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elivélton Sampaio during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 9 played minutes SÃO PAULO FUTEBOL CLUBE got a freekick which was hit by Elivélton Sampaio. After a rather tough play, SÃO PAULO FUTEBOL CLUBE's Torleif Bergbøl got a free kick in the 14th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Catesporo AD's Jairo Tepedino slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pedrinho Vander. That made the score 1-1 after 16 minutes of play. Jairo Tepedino charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jairo Tepedino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jairo Tepedino kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. César Meirelles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thiago Leão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Catesporo AD getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Acácio Moreira hit a great ball. If Thiago Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute, Jacinto Soeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 37 minutes into the match, Glauco Souto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of César Meirelles. Catesporo AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Glauco Souto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Pedrinho Vander made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cássio Paraibano in the 41st minute. 43 minutes into the match, SÃO PAULO FUTEBOL CLUBE's goal looked a bit too open when Jairo Tepedino came free, but Pedrinho Vander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tales Oliveira in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg César Meirelles saved Catesporo AD from getting behind. Elivélton Sampaio got his second yellow card in the match during the 47th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Catesporo AD booed when SÃO PAULO FUTEBOL CLUBE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elivélton Sampaio didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo Tepedino in the 50th minute of play forced SÃO PAULO FUTEBOL CLUBE's goalkeeper Pedrinho Vander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jairo Tepedino to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Catesporo AD getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Sydney Teixeira hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tales Oliveira got free with César Meirelles in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Glauco Souto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Meirelles having to interfere. César Meirelles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Teles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. César Meirelles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tales Oliveira in the 60th minute of play. Pedrinho Vander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gonçalo Luz in the 61st minute of the match. Catesporo AD's defense didn't have a chance, in the 67th minute, when Frank Teles scored to the left of an out of position César Meirelles, making the score, 1-4. In the 71st minute, Torleif Bergbøl got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Frank Teles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Catesporo AD's Jairo Tepedino got a free kick in the 80th minute. When Frank Teles came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the SÃO PAULO FUTEBOL CLUBE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Teles couldn't finish the play. Frank Teles blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without César Meirelles having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Catesporo AD's zone, Tales Oliveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. César Meirelles came out of the goal and Tales Oliveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Glauco Souto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. César Meirelles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Glauco Souto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Catesporo AD fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. SÃO PAULO FUTEBOL CLUBE were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
