Gaizka Larquera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurício Veiga having to interfere. A collision led to São Bento getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Afonso Recife hit a great ball. Guto Neiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Maurício Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Afonso Recife hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. 24 minutes into the match, Diguinho Prado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Maurício Veiga. São Bento's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Diguinho Prado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 33rd minute, Diguinho Prado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in São Bento's zone, Luan Ribeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maurício Veiga came out of the goal and Luan Ribeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Ibiuna FC booed when São Bento was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonso Recife didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in São Bento's zone, Luan Ribeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maurício Veiga came out of the goal and Luan Ribeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 46th minute, Diguinho Prado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Gaizka Larquera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Ibiuna FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Humberto Fernandes was the one to do the kick off. Ibiuna FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave São Bento the free kick. Anísio Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardinho de Queiroz having to interfere. In the 74th match minute, Ibiuna FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaizka Larquera to maneuver through the defense. Maurício Veiga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luan Ribeiro in the 78th minute of play. After 80 played minutes São Bento got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Botelho. If Wilton Aguiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maurício Veiga came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Ibiuna FC's Diguinho Prado. But to his dismay, Diguinho Prado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Guto Neiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
