Leonel Teixeira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. 15 minutes into the match, I p a u s s u e n s s e's goal looked a bit too open when Aílton Gaspar came free, but Leonel Teixeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dário Nascimento stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ivar Hellbom's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. 21 minutes into the match, Matías Brito notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of I p a u s s u e n s s e's Leonel Teixeira. Leonel Teixeira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. I p a u s s u e n s s e's Leonel Teixeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aílton Gaspar in the 29th minute of play. A collision led to I p a u s s u e n s s e getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Régis Koehler hit a great ball. If Ivar Hellbom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Leonel Teixeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matías Brito in the 41st minute of the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aílton Gaspar made a kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Ivar Hellbom cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Dário Nascimento was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Régis Koehler was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 56 minutes had been played. With his leg Leonel Teixeira managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when Giant Killing United's Aílton Gaspar fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 60 played minutes Giant Killing United got a freekick which was hit by Pedro de Amaral. Guto Dantas took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 61st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dário Nascimento. Giant Killing United's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Giant Killing United's zone, Edmílson Capixaba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dário Nascimento came out of the goal and Edmílson Capixaba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Giant Killing United's Jonas do Nascimento got a free kick in the 70th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aílton Gaspar got free with Leonel Teixeira in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leonel Teixeira made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Aílton Gaspar sent off a good shot on target. Aílton Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonel Teixeira having to interfere. Giant Killing United's Aílton Gaspar got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, I p a u s s u e n s s e's Leonel Teixeira got control of the ball when Mário Urbano tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ivar Hellbom during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 91 played minutes Giant Killing United got a freekick which was hit by Matías Brito. Gildo Pombal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dário Nascimento having to interfere. Dário Nascimento came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by I p a u s s u e n s s e's Edmílson Capixaba. But to his dismay, Edmílson Capixaba quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. I p a u s s u e n s s e succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Giant Killing United had controlled the match.
