Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Valério Macedo got the match started through his kick off. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ferroviário de Tucuruí's goalkeeper Dedé Maranhense, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 12th minute, Aílton Gaspar reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dedé Maranhense. The goal made the score 1-0. After a rather tough play, Ferroviário de Tucuruí's Virgílio Cerezo got a free kick in the 16th minute. Dedé Maranhense was a little too slow when Aílton Gaspar got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 17th minute. The score was now 2-0. Jonas do Nascimento was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 20th minute. Giant Killing United's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 21 minutes, Ulisses Lago mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ferroviário de Tucuruí and the Giant Killing United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 21st match minute, Ferroviário de Tucuruí was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulisses Lago to maneuver through the defense. Dedé Maranhense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aílton Gaspar in the 30th minute. Valério Macedo kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Ferroviário de Tucuruí's Baltazar Cunha suffered a concussion in the 34th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Norberto Carioca during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Norberto Carioca hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. When Mário Urbano fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Giant Killing United's protests and gave Mário Urbano a yellow card for diving instead. After 39 played minutes Giant Killing United got a freekick which was hit by Mário Urbano. Dário Nascimento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgílio Cerezo in the 49th minute of play.

When José Pedro de Barros came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Giant Killing United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Pedro de Barros couldn't finish the play. In the 58th minute, José Pedro de Barros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Nestor Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dário Nascimento was out of position in the 67 minute of play, and Valério Macedo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Valério Macedo really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Dedé Maranhense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aílton Gaspar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aílton Gaspar in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dedé Maranhense saved Ferroviário de Tucuruí from getting behind. José Pedro de Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dedé Maranhense having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Aílton Gaspar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Giant Killing United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Dedé Maranhense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aílton Gaspar, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. 90 minutes into the match, Ferroviário de Tucuruí's goal looked a bit too open when Aílton Gaspar came free, but Dedé Maranhense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nilton Lopes in the 92nd minute of play forced Giant Killing United's goalkeeper Dário Nascimento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ferroviário de Tucuruí's Dedé Maranhense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aílton Gaspar in the 94th minute of play. Mário Urbano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 97 minutes into the game, José Pedro de Barros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Giant Killing United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ferroviário de Tucuruí the free kick. José Pedro de Barros hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Giant Killing United had played much better football throughout.
