Mazinho Vianna charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mazinho Vianna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 11 played minutes I p a u s s u e n s s e got a freekick which was hit by Mazinho Vianna. 13 minutes into the match, I p a u s s u e n s s e's goal looked a bit too open when Kléber Diniz came free, but Leonel Teixeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 15 minutes, Gláuber Tepedino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the I p a u s s u e n s s e and the Baependi players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 16th minute, José de Mendonça ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leonel Teixeira was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Leonel Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José de Mendonça in the 21st minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Kléber Diniz made a precise shot to the right of Leonel Teixeira. I p a u s s u e n s s e's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. A collision led to Baependi getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Silvério Pitta hit a great ball. Ivar Hellbom recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 33 minutes into the match, I p a u s s u e n s s e's goal looked a bit too open when Kléber Diniz came free, but Leonel Teixeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leonel Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kléber Diniz in the 35th minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, I p a u s s u e n s s e's goal looked a bit too open when José de Mendonça came free, but Leonel Teixeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Marcos Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. Leonel Teixeira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ivar Hellbom stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Silvério Pitta kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. 60 minutes into the match, I p a u s s u e n s s e's goalkeeper Leonel Teixeira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by José de Mendonça. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nelson Zonta got free with Leonel Teixeira in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 63rd match minute, I p a u s s u e n s s e was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gláuber Tepedino to maneuver through the defense. I p a u s s u e n s s e's Leonel Teixeira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save I p a u s s u e n s s e from getting a goal against them. Gildo Pombal charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Leonel Teixeira made an important save on a dangerous shot by José de Mendonça in the 79th minute. Marcos Esteves might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonel Teixeira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcos Esteves ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Quadros in the 84th minute of play forced Baependi's goalkeeper Zé Pedro Ramalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when José de Mendonça got free with Leonel Teixeira in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ivar Hellbom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José de Mendonça could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Leonel Teixeira made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Baependi's Nelson Zonta got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Leonel Teixeira made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when José de Mendonça sent off a good shot on target. Leonel Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Esteves in the 98th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Baependi left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than I p a u s s u e n s s e.
