The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 13 played minutes Estrela da Manhã -DMZ- got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Brasil. In the 22nd minute, Jorge Souza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Frederico Vides was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Brasil in the 26th minute of play forced Futebol Clube Cascavel's goalkeeper Frederico Vides to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute, Juarês Martins got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Geraldo Tepedino got free with Geovanni Mineiro in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 33 minutes of play, Futebol Clube Cascavel's Geraldo Tepedino made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Geovanni Mineiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Estrela da Manhã -DMZ-'s Geovanni Mineiro got control of the ball when Geraldo Tepedino tried to sneak it across the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Futebol Clube Cascavel's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Brasil came free, but Frederico Vides reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Geraldo Tepedino reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Geovanni Mineiro. The goal made the score 2-1. Frédson Falcão received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Geovanni Mineiro came out and tried to block the shot, but Frédson Falcão slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 45th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Frédson Falcão during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 51st match minute, Futebol Clube Cascavel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frédson Falcão to maneuver through the defense. Geraldo Tepedino scored 4-1 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Geovanni Mineiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 66th minute of the match, Carlos Brasil got a very nice opportunity to score, but Frederico Vides was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. A collision led to Futebol Clube Cascavel getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Frédson Falcão hit a great ball. Juarês Martins charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juarês Martins the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Geraldo Tepedino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juarês Martins in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Geovanni Mineiro saved Estrela da Manhã -DMZ- from getting behind. Geovanni Mineiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geraldo Tepedino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frédson Falcão hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After having played for 84 minutes, Carlos Brasil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Estrela da Manhã -DMZ-'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Brasil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, José Paulo Berger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Futebol Clube Cascavel's supporters rose to their feet, but José Paulo Berger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geovanni Mineiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Frederico Vides stood somewhat misplaced when Carlos Brasil came free in front of goal and shot 5-2 to the left of him in the 92 minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Víktor Figueiredo during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Estrela da Manhã -DMZ-'s Geovanni Mineiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Paulo Berger in the 98th minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Futebol Clube Cascavel players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
