Frederico Vides was a little too slow when Jonathan Meirelles got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 5th minute. The score was now 1-0. A collision led to Futebol Clube Cascavel getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Willian Ceresso hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the game, Sidnei Motta recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Frederico Vides. Sidnei Motta showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. The supporters of Futebol Clube Cascavel booed when IBZ S.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcus Soares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juninho Queiroz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geraldo Tepedino in the 20th minute of play. Frederico Vides took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sidnei Motta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Futebol Clube Cascavel's Frédson Falcão got a free kick in the 23rd minute. With a little luck, Futebol Clube Cascavel's Frederico Vides got control of the ball when Sidnei Motta tried to sneak it across the goal line. IBZ S.C.'s Juninho Queiroz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juarês Martins in the 29th minute of play. With a little luck, Futebol Clube Cascavel's Frederico Vides got control of the ball when Nico Fantini tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sidnei Motta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Frederico Vides tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 38 minutes of play, Futebol Clube Cascavel's Juarês Martins made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Juninho Queiroz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Geraldo Tepedino took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Juninho Queiroz. Juninho Queiroz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The IBZ S.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. If Matheus Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. IBZ S.C.'s Matheus Luz got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonathan Meirelles kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Futebol Clube Cascavel's Juarês Martins got a free kick in the 75th minute. Frederico Vides showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sidnei Motta, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Frederico Vides showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nico Fantini in the 86th minute of the match. Geraldo Tepedino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Juninho Queiroz made a huge save. 94 minutes into the game, José Augusto Pinho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Futebol Clube Cascavel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave IBZ S.C. the free kick.
