The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Elder Galvão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Váldson Maciel, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Valdemar Cardozo's late challenge caught a ITUMBIARA E.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valdemar Cardozo helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Albino getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Valdemar Cardozo hit a great ball. After 15 played minutes, ITUMBIARA E.C.'s Eliseu Berger shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Elder Galvão came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in ITUMBIARA E.C. reached it. Eduardo Bertassi's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Nildo Urbano firmly grabbed it by the left post. Gildo da Silva struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Nildo Urbano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Albino. Eduardo Bertassi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nildo Urbano was a little too slow when Vítor Rosa got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 25th minute. The score was now 2-0. Elder Galvão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antônio Carlos Paraense in the 30th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rômulo do Nascimento in the 31st minute of play forced ITUMBIARA E.C.'s goalkeeper Nildo Urbano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute, ITUMBIARA E.C.'s goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ignacio Tyler fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. With his leg Nildo Urbano managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when Albino's Eduardo Bertassi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Váldson Maciel was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to ITUMBIARA E.C. getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Paulo Renato Matos hit a great ball. ITUMBIARA E.C.'s Nildo Urbano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcus de Salles in the 56th minute of play. After 63 minutes, Rômulo do Nascimento mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Albino and the ITUMBIARA E.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. 67 minutes into the game, Eliseu Berger recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Elder Galvão. Eliseu Berger showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. In the 70th match minute, Albino was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Moisés Alves to maneuver through the defense. Pedrinho Peres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 73rd minute Váldson Maciel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elder Galvão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gildo da Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Nildo Urbano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ignacio Tyler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Albino getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Rômulo do Nascimento hit a great ball. Elder Galvão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Váldson Maciel in the 82nd minute of the match. Nildo Urbano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcus de Salles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 86th minute Marcus de Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nildo Urbano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 87 minutes into the match, Albino's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Renato Matos came free, but Elder Galvão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sandro Castro's late challenge caught a ITUMBIARA E.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sandro Castro helped the player get up and apologised.
