Ulisses Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danilo Veloso having to interfere. After having played for 18 minutes, Anísio Dante managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cangaceiros PE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anísio Dante was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 20th minute, Adrianinho Saldanha reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Anderson Diniz. The goal made the score 1-1. Cangaceiros PE's Danilo Veloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Xavier in the 29th minute of play. Danilo Veloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulisses Barros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anderson Diniz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Adrianinho Saldanha showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 38 minute of play. In the 42nd match minute, Cangaceiros PE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Décio Madureira to maneuver through the defense. The referee ignored Ana Terra's protests and gave Adhemar Carioca a yellow card for diving instead. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ana Terra's goalkeeper Anderson Diniz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roberto Xavier during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
