Anderson Diniz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Carlos Loyola, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Edgar de Sena was shown his second yellow card after 37 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Joel Linares was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Roberto Xavier showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 39 minute of play.
