An unexpectedly hard shot by Cléber Capixaba in the 9th minute of play forced Jacarau SS's goalkeeper Armando Donatello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armando Donatello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anísio Dante in the 10th minute of the match. If Donato Catarinense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marco de Amaral kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Armando Donatello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cléber Capixaba in the 23rd minute of play. 26 minutes into the game, Marcos Valladares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cangaceiros PE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jacarau SS the free kick. Donato Catarinense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Danilo Veloso having to make a save. In the 27th minute, Jacarau SS's João Augusto Mazza dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. When Jorge Linares fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cangaceiros PE's protests and gave Jorge Linares a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Jacarau SS booed when Cangaceiros PE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Linares didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 33 played minutes, Jacarau SS's Donato Catarinense shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Danilo Veloso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Jacarau SS reached it. After a defensive mix-up in Jacarau SS's zone, Cléber Capixaba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armando Donatello came out of the goal and Cléber Capixaba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Giovani Penha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Donatello having to interfere. Anísio Dante kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After 44 played minutes, Jacarau SS's Donato Catarinense shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Danilo Veloso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Jacarau SS reached it. In the 45th minute, Jacarau SS's Gilberto Breckenfeld dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for João Augusto Mazza to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Augusto Mazza in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Danilo Veloso saved Cangaceiros PE from getting behind. Jorge Linares took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Armando Donatello. Armando Donatello dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. After a rather tough play, Jacarau SS's Elano Ribeiro got a free kick in the 70th minute. Adrianinho Saldanha succeeded in the game's 73rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-4. Anísio Dante could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Armando Donatello made a huge save. Cléber Capixaba struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Armando Donatello didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cangaceiros PE. Armando Donatello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giovani Penha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gilberto Breckenfeld kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Danilo Veloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donato Catarinense, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. 94 minutes into the match, Cangaceiros PE's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Breckenfeld came free, but Danilo Veloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over Cangaceiros PE could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Jacarau SS throughout the match.
