Associação Menta Clube's Rigoberto Mark got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Kauan de Salles fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gremio Fc's protests and gave Kauan de Salles a yellow card for diving instead. In the 33rd minute, Marek Magdziarz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emílio Vieira was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After 38 minutes of play, Associação Menta Clube's Rigoberto Mark made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emílio Vieira was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 41 minutes, Teodoro Munhoz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gremio Fc and the Associação Menta Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 41 played minutes Gremio Fc got a freekick which was hit by Teodoro Munhoz. 42 minutes into the game, Hélder Veiga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gremio Fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Associação Menta Clube the free kick. A collision led to Gremio Fc getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Hélder Veiga hit a great ball. In the 43rd match minute, Gremio Fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jarbas Magalhães to maneuver through the defense. Jarbas Magalhães kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Emílio Vieira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evaristo Lira, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Dino Ceresso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teodoro Munhoz, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Dênis Ortiz hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Marek Magdziarz received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dino Ceresso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teodoro Munhoz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Associação Menta Clube's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
