After a defensive mix-up in Giggantes FC's zone, Rigoberto Mark stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Danilo Figueiredo came out of the goal and Rigoberto Mark tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. András Balogh kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. After 37 played minutes Associação Menta Clube got a freekick which was hit by Cristóvão Paiva. In the 38th minute of the match Alessandro Seco shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dino Ceresso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 43rd minute João Carlos Rosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dino Ceresso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 50th minute Giggantes FC were awarded a corner. Zé Carlos Almeida went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Zé Carlos Almeida got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dino Ceresso quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Danilo Figueiredo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Associação Menta Clube.
