When Anísio Rezende came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Brillouin F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anísio Rezende couldn't finish the play. Isaltino Catarinense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elano de Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elano de Almeida scored 0-1 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Isaltino Catarinense, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 20th minute of the match Daniel Arantes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Evandro Correia skillfully saved the ball. Anísio Rezende blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Evandro Correia having to make a save. Luís Moraes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brillouin F.C.'s Isaltino Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henrique Vargas in the 28th minute of play. Inácio de Medeiros was extremely unlucky when he, in the 32nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Luís Moraes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel da Fonseca kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. With a little luck, Palmorindo's Evandro Correia got control of the ball when Anísio Rezende tried to sneak it across the goal line. Evandro Correia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Inácio de Medeiros went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Brillouin F.C.'s Luís Moraes got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 45 minutes into the match, Palmorindo's goal looked a bit too open when Fabrício Melo came free, but Evandro Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Inácio de Medeiros was the one to do the kick off. Isaltino Catarinense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elano de Almeida in the 54th minute of the match. Walmyr Abreu might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Isaltino Catarinense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Walmyr Abreu ran back to his position shaking his head. Palmorindo's Evandro Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dedé Nunes in the 62nd minute of play. Dedé Nunes hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. In the 69th match minute, Palmorindo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elano de Almeida to maneuver through the defense.
