Bruninho Moura came out and tried to block the shot, but Paulão Paes slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 3rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Donato Siqueira kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Bruninho Moura. That made the score 2-0 in the 12 minute of play. In the 16th minute of the game Aílton de Amaral made a throw-in which Alexandre Vargas played forward. After some careless play in the Conde SC defense, Virgílio Soeiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luiz Eduardo Tasso. The Conde SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luiz Eduardo Tasso should have stopped the shot. An unexpected shot in the 20th minute by Paulão Paes got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Paulão Paes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Conde SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulão Paes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bruninho Moura breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 29 minutes into the match, Gorino's goalkeeper Bruninho Moura had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Giuseppe de Lara. Luiz Eduardo Tasso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Paraibano, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 32 minutes into the match, Conde SC's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Paraibano came free, but Luiz Eduardo Tasso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luiz Eduardo Tasso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Paraibano in the 37th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Paraibano in the 38th minute of play forced Conde SC's goalkeeper Luiz Eduardo Tasso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Virgílio Soeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Luiz Eduardo Tasso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bruninho Moura took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulão Paes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Virgílio Soeiro to make the kick off. Jano Linhares kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Conde SC's goalkeeper Luiz Eduardo Tasso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvério Moraes in the 57th minute of play forced Gorino's goalkeeper Bruninho Moura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 59 minutes of play, Conde SC's Paulão Paes made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bruninho Moura was left in no man's land by his defense there! A throw-in in the 67th minute of the game was made by Aílton de Amaral with Virgílio Soeiro as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Conde SC's Luiz Eduardo Tasso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Conde SC from getting a goal against them. Gorino's Bruninho Moura played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulão Paes in the 70th minute of play. In the 71st minute Virgílio Soeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Eduardo Tasso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jano Linhares kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Bruninho Moura made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulão Paes in the 78th minute of play. After 78 played minutes Gorino got a freekick which was hit by Jano Linhares. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giuseppe de Lara in the 89th minute of play forced Gorino's goalkeeper Bruninho Moura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 91st minute Virgílio Soeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Eduardo Tasso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulão Paes in the 96th minute of play forced Gorino's goalkeeper Bruninho Moura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gorino's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
