In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Japira SS's goalkeeper Tostão Figueiredo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Brillouin F.C. getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Jairo Queiroz hit a great ball. Elder Alagoano took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Isaltino Catarinense. Brillouin F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Dedé Nunes hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Tostão Figueiredo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Inácio de Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Japira SS's zone, Luís Moraes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tostão Figueiredo came out of the goal and Luís Moraes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luiz Fábio Aparecido kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Inácio de Medeiros in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tostão Figueiredo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Inácio de Medeiros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 38th minute José Vítor Nóbrega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isaltino Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Inácio de Medeiros ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 46 minutes, Inácio de Medeiros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brillouin F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Inácio de Medeiros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Tostão Figueiredo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Moraes in the 54th minute of play. In the 55th minute, Brillouin F.C.'s Inácio de Medeiros ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tostão Figueiredo. Tostão Figueiredo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Luís Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tostão Figueiredo having to interfere. Anísio Rezende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Tostão Figueiredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Brillouin F.C.'s Tostão Figueiredo threw himself towards the right post 66 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Inácio de Medeiros, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After having played for 68 minutes, Luís Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brillouin F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Moraes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 81 minutes of play, Brillouin F.C.'s Anísio Rezende made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tostão Figueiredo was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Japira SS booed when Brillouin F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dedé Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brillouin F.C.'s fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
