The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Isaltino Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristiano Proença, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. After having played for 10 minutes, Cláudio Loyola managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. União São José FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cláudio Loyola was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 16 minutes into the match, Brillouin F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Cláudio Loyola came free, but Isaltino Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21stth minute of the game Cristiano Proença who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brillouin F.C.'s Isaltino Catarinense was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Proença in the 22nd minute of play forced Brillouin F.C.'s goalkeeper Isaltino Catarinense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute, Daniel Arantes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 25 played minutes, União São José FC's Pedro Luiz Corrêa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Isaltino Catarinense came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in União São José FC reached it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cláudio Loyola in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Isaltino Catarinense saved Brillouin F.C. from getting behind. After 31 played minutes Brillouin F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Dedé Nunes. In the 33rd minute, Pedro Luiz Corrêa made a precise shot to the right of Isaltino Catarinense. Brillouin F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After 36 played minutes Brillouin F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Inácio de Medeiros. Isaltino Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cláudio Loyola in the 38th minute of play. After 40 minutes of play, União São José FC's Carlos Alberto Machado made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Isaltino Catarinense was left in no man's land by his defense there! União São José FC's Lauro da Silveira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save União São José FC from getting a goal against them. José Cruz hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Luiz Corrêa in the 47th minute of play forced Brillouin F.C.'s goalkeeper Isaltino Catarinense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Inácio de Medeiros to make the kick off. Isaltino Catarinense was a little too slow when Cristiano Proença got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 52nd minute. The score was now 0-4. In the 56th match minute, Brillouin F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Natanael Penha to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Brillouin F.C. getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Luís Moraes hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Brillouin F.C.'s Fabrício Melo got a free kick in the 60th minute. Cláudio Loyola received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Isaltino Catarinense came out and tried to block the shot, but Cláudio Loyola slotted it home off the left post making it 0-5 in the 65th minute. After a rather tough play, Brillouin F.C.'s José Cruz got a free kick in the 68th minute. In the 70thth minute of the game Cláudio Loyola who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brillouin F.C.'s Isaltino Catarinense was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Natanael Penha kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. In the 73rd minute, Pedro Luiz Corrêa sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Brillouin F.C.'s Isaltino Catarinense didn't even have to move. Fabrício Melo hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as União São José FC's Cristiano Proença slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Isaltino Catarinense. That made the score 0-6 after 80 minutes of play. When Daniel Arantes fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Brillouin F.C.'s protests and gave Daniel Arantes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 85th match minute, Brillouin F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Arantes to maneuver through the defense. It was beautiful to see União São José FC's Carlos Alberto Machado in action when he in the 86th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Isaltino Catarinense didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristiano Proença went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the Brillouin F.C. defense, Carlos Alberto Machado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Isaltino Catarinense. The Brillouin F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Isaltino Catarinense should have stopped the shot. When the match was over União São José FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Brillouin F.C. throughout the match.
