Crescencio Cañadas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luisão Linhares in the 6th minute of the match. Leonel Vergílio's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Crescencio Cañadas firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a rather tough play, Bahus's Ademar Koehler got a free kick in the 13th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Bahus's goal looked a bit too open when Tião de Andrade came free, but Crescencio Cañadas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute, Leonel Eufemio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Avelinos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Crescencio Cañadas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leonel Eufemio in the 25th minute. Robinho Nogueira hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. After 33 played minutes Avelinos got a freekick which was hit by Leonel Eufemio. Leonel Vergílio struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Crescencio Cañadas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Avelinos. Crescencio Cañadas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisão Linhares in the 38th minute of play. After having played for 42 minutes, Camilo Eleder managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bahus's supporters crossed their fingers, but Camilo Eleder was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bahus's Crescencio Cañadas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonel Eufemio in the 45th minute of play. In the 47th minute Leonel Eufemio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Crescencio Cañadas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leonel Eufemio to make the kick off. Avelinos's Tiago Gabriel Castro got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Dida Loureiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Avelinos's supporters rose to their feet, but Dida Loureiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Crescencio Cañadas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorian Fernandez in the 57th minute of play forced Bahus's goalkeeper Crescencio Cañadas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bahus's Zé Massa suffered a sore knee after 58 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Genílson Pontes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diguinho Botelho in the 62nd minute. Dida Loureiro made in the 63rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Bahus's Evaggelos Stavratos. In the 68th minute, Leonel Eufemio made a precise shot to the right of Crescencio Cañadas. Bahus's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. When Robinho Nogueira fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Avelinos's protests and gave Robinho Nogueira a yellow card for diving instead. Leonel Eufemio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Crescencio Cañadas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Crescencio Cañadas came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Avelinos's Leonel Eufemio. But to his dismay, Leonel Eufemio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. If Leonel Eufemio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Crescencio Cañadas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tião de Andrade in the 91st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Bahus defense, Tião de Andrade kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Crescencio Cañadas. The Bahus fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Crescencio Cañadas should have stopped the shot. Avelinos's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
