Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. The audience held their breath when Pedro Paulo Vergílio in the 26th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the William Peixoto's left hand side. Olavo Pena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toma Benga having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olavo Pena in the 38th minute of play forced Novo Hamburgo SA's goalkeeper Toma Benga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Novo Hamburgo SA's Wilson Paraíba got a free kick in the 40th minute. Daniel Siggman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Januaria's William Peixoto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Milosz Kozak in the 56th minute of play. William Peixoto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Milosz Kozak's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. In the 62nd minute Orlando do Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toma Benga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Silvinho Araújo during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Januaria's William Peixoto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Januaria from getting a goal against them. Milosz Kozak's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but William Peixoto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play.
