Jaraqui's José Carlos Monteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tales Santos in the 4th minute of play. When Luís Eduardo Massa fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jaraqui's protests and gave Luís Eduardo Massa a yellow card for diving instead. Luís Eduardo Massa hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. José Carlos Monteiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sílvio Luís Félix in the 6th minute of play. José Carlos Monteiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sílvio Luís Félix, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. One of Jaraqui:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Maratoneiro:s goal. Jaraqui's attentive Betinho Siqueira managed to snatch the ball when Paulão Leão made a throw-in in the 21st minute of the game. José Carlos Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tales Santos in the 31st minute of the match. José Carlos Monteiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tales Santos went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Tales Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Carlos Monteiro having to interfere. If Tales Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Jaraqui's zone, Tales Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Carlos Monteiro came out of the goal and Tales Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tales Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. José Carlos Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Luís Félix, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half Maratoneiro were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tales Santos to strike the kick off in the second half. Sílvio Luís Félix recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 59 minutes into the match, Jaraqui's goalkeeper José Carlos Monteiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tales Leão. The attack was good, but when Tales Leão in the 60th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Sílvio Luís Félix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. José Carlos Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Sílvio Luís Félix managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maratoneiro's supporters rose to their feet, but Sílvio Luís Félix was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Carlos Monteiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 70th minute Tales Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Carlos Monteiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cauan Gonçalves hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Paulão Leão hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. After 80 minutes, Tales Leão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maratoneiro and the Jaraqui players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Maratoneiro's Tales Leão got a free kick in the 80th minute. Cauan Gonçalves charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cauan Gonçalves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 82 played minutes Maratoneiro got a freekick which was hit by Cauan Gonçalves. José Carlos Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tales Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. With a little luck, Jaraqui's José Carlos Monteiro got control of the ball when Sílvio Luís Félix tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Jaraqui's Luís Eduardo Massa got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 88th minute, Tales Santos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Carlos Monteiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. José Carlos Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tales Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. José Carlos Monteiro didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 93rd minute, which inside left pole to 0-5. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Maratoneiro had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
