Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Olavo Pena took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 5th minute Serginho Massa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Peixoto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Serginho Massa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. William Peixoto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Orlando do Nascimento charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Orlando do Nascimento the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Januaria's Orlando do Nascimento got a free kick in the 10th minute. Jaraqui's Nilton Campidelis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olavo Pena in the 12th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fabiano de Azevedo in the 19th minute of play forced Januaria's goalkeeper William Peixoto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute Dé de Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nilton Campidelis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dé de Almeida blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nilton Campidelis having to make a save. Luís Fabiano Gerber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Fabiano de Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. William Peixoto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jaraqui's Nilton Campidelis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olavo Pena in the 37th minute of play. Pedro Luiz Queirós, 39 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After having played for 44 minutes, Olavo Pena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Januaria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olavo Pena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Januaria's zone, Betão de Barros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. William Peixoto came out of the goal and Betão de Barros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The crowd rose to their feet as Luís Fabiano Gerber kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving William Peixoto. That made the score 0-1 in the 56 minute of play. Luís Fabiano de Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William Peixoto having to interfere. In the 61st minute, Serginho Massa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 63 minutes, Dé de Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Januaria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dé de Almeida was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nilton Campidelis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dé de Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nilton Campidelis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dé de Almeida in the 66th minute of play. A collision led to Januaria getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Dé de Almeida hit a great ball. William Peixoto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Betão de Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. If Betão de Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Fabiano de Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William Peixoto having to interfere. Olavo Pena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilton Campidelis having to interfere. After some careless play in the Jaraqui defense, Olavo Pena kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nilton Campidelis. The Jaraqui fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nilton Campidelis should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Januaria getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Vágner da Silva hit a great ball. William Peixoto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Fabiano de Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
