When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Paul Gigante took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Gilson Vander to make any attempt to save it. In the 61st match minute, Mel Mel F C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diamantino Pena to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Real Madruga F.C's zone, Paul Gigante stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilson Vander came out of the goal and Paul Gigante tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Real Madruga F.C's Raphael Maia got a free kick in the 69th minute. Paul Gigante struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Gilson Vander didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mel Mel F C. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mel Mel F C eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
