Raí de Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Confiança FC's goal looked a bit too open when Serafim de Carvalho came free, but Washington Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Washington Amaral came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Atlanta United F.C.'s Serafim de Carvalho. But to his dismay, Serafim de Carvalho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Clóvis Ferraz took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Washington Amaral. Confiança FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 24 played minutes Confiança FC got a freekick which was hit by Tomaž Silva. After a rather tough play, Atlanta United F.C.'s Fabinho Salgado got a free kick in the 25th minute. 27 minutes into the match, Atlanta United F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Jardel de Queirós came free, but Mané França reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 33 minutes, Joel Leite managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlanta United F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Leite was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Washington Amaral didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joel Leite went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The Atlanta United F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jardel de Queirós to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Serafim de Carvalho got free with Washington Amaral in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 59 played minutes Confiança FC got a freekick which was hit by Raí de Senna. Serafim de Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Atlanta United F.C.'s Fabinho Salgado got a free kick in the 65th minute. Washington Amaral made an important save on a dangerous shot by Serafim de Carvalho in the 71st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jardel de Queirós in the 75th minute of play forced Atlanta United F.C.'s goalkeeper Mané França to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Confiança FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Leonel Tande hit a great ball. Serafim de Carvalho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Washington Amaral having to make a save. Washington Amaral was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Atlanta United F.C. played a much better game than Confiança FC and deserved their victory. The Confiança FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
