The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The crowd rose to their feet as George Albescu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Washington Amaral. That made the score 1-0 in the 2 minute of play. Washington Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from George Albescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Confiança FC's Washington Amaral got control of the ball when Raúl Blanco tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fabiano Tinoco in the 9th minute of play forced Confiança FC's goalkeeper Washington Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Bola07 FC booed when Confiança FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simão Tande didn't get a good kick on the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Bola07 FC's Cleiton Baptista sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Washington Amaral narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Albescu in the 13th minute of play forced Confiança FC's goalkeeper Washington Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Confiança FC's goal looked a bit too open when George Albescu came free, but Washington Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Maurício Pereira took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Washington Amaral to make any attempt to save it. 21 minutes into the game, Maurício Pereira recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Washington Amaral. Maurício Pereira showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. 26 minutes into the match, Maurício Pereira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Washington Amaral. Confiança FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maurício Pereira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. After having played for 30 minutes, Humberto Passos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Confiança FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Humberto Passos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Confiança FC's zone, Raúl Blanco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Washington Amaral came out of the goal and Raúl Blanco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fabiano Tinoco in the 34th minute of play forced Confiança FC's goalkeeper Washington Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Washington Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ismael Cruz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 36 minutes of play, Bola07 FC's Raúl Blanco made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Washington Amaral was left in no man's land by his defense there! Washington Amaral was a little too slow when Maurício Pereira got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 39th minute. The score was now 6-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ismael Cruz got free with Washington Amaral in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Bola07 FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Ismael Cruz hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Bola07 FC defense, Gustavo de Senna kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luizão Bueno. The Bola07 FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luizão Bueno should have stopped the shot. 47 minutes into the game, Raúl Blanco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bola07 FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Confiança FC the free kick. Raúl Blanco hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 6-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Maurício Pereira to strike the kick off in the second half. If Raúl Blanco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. George Albescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Washington Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raúl Blanco, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Confiança FC's Washington Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Fabiano Tinoco in the 59th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Raúl Blanco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Washington Amaral. Confiança FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Raúl Blanco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabrício Mendonça in the 64th minute of play forced Bola07 FC's goalkeeper Luizão Bueno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Washington Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raúl Blanco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74th minute, Raúl Blanco made a precise shot to the right of Washington Amaral. Confiança FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-1. Washington Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Fabiano Tinoco in the 79th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jardel de Queirós during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jardel de Queirós hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute Luiz Fabiano Tinoco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Washington Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Washington Amaral didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ismael Cruz went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 10-1 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maurício Pereira in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Washington Amaral saved Confiança FC from getting behind. After some careless play in the Confiança FC defense, Raúl Blanco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Washington Amaral. The Confiança FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Washington Amaral should have stopped the shot. Confiança FC's Washington Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raúl Blanco in the 93rd minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Maurício Pereira notched a goal, 12-1, to the right of Confiança FC's Washington Amaral. Washington Amaral was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
