The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Benjamin das Neves the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Araguaia Sport Clube protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Benjamin das Neves had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 9 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Araguaia Sport Clube! The goalkeeper, Bernardo Ortiz, was totally fooled by A.C. Paulistano - DMZ's Haciqämbär Carabajal, who 11 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After a rather tough play, A.C. In the 23rd minute, Diego Linhares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute of the match, Fazıl Gol got a very nice opportunity to score, but Bernardo Ortiz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bruno Leite in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bernardo Ortiz saved Araguaia Sport Clube from getting behind. Luizão Azevedo's late challenge caught a A.C. Paulistano - DMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luizão Azevedo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of A.C. Paulistano - DMZ booed when Araguaia Sport Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luizão Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Araguaia Sport Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fazıl Gol was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. After 68 minutes, Gualter Vander mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Araguaia Sport Clube and the A.C. Paulistano - DMZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fazıl Gol scored 3-0 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bernardo Ortiz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luizão Azevedo came free with the goalkeeper in the 83rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jorge Campos could save by the left post.
