Gotham City F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Tomé Nóbrega was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mazinho Fernandez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, HELVETIA's Hernani Botelho got a free kick in the 17th minute. Mazinho Fernandez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomé Nóbrega in the 17th minute of the match. In the 24th minute, Tomé Nóbrega made a precise shot to the right of Mazinho Fernandez. HELVETIA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After 26 played minutes Gotham City F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Tomé Nóbrega. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Fernando Vergílio got free with Juvenal Bueno in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 37th minute, HELVETIA's Frederico Vale seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Frederico Vale the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of HELVETIA protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Frederico Vale had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in HELVETIA fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 37th minute. Penalty! A collision led to Gotham City F.C. getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Ediberto Leão hit a great ball. Gotham City F.C.'s Juvenal Bueno proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Gotham City F.C. from getting a goal against them. Mazinho Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomé Nóbrega, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute Cesinha Vianna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mazinho Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cesinha Vianna to make the kick off. Tomé Nóbrega's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 51stth minute, Mazinho Fernandez skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. But to his dismay, Tomé Nóbrega quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Mazinho Fernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cesinha Vianna, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. An unexpected shot in the 77th minute by Tomé Nóbrega got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 84th minute, Sebastião de Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cesinha Vianna in the 87th minute of play forced HELVETIA's goalkeeper Mazinho Fernandez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomé Nóbrega could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Mazinho Fernandez made a huge save. In the 94th play minute Tomé Nóbrega came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Mazinho Fernandez. 0-3. The HELVETIA supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Gotham City F.C.'s performance. The match ended with a win for Gotham City F.C..
