An unexpectedly hard shot by Moreno Cabeleira in the 83rd minute of play forced HELVETIA's goalkeeper Mazinho Fernandez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With 85 minutes on the clock, Roman Abesadze commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 85th minute of the game. One of Corinthians FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of HELVETIA:s goal. The referee gave HELVETIA a penalty, 88 minutes into the game. But to his dismay, Luís Fernando Vergílio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-6. Corinthians FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
