Tabuleirao's Dida Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denílson Velasco in the 5th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jorginho de Moraes during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After having played for 11 minutes, Rony Paes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tabuleirao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rony Paes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ramiro Mello came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Tabuleirao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ramiro Mello couldn't finish the play. Invernada's Hamílton Cardoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Invernada from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Invernada booed when Tabuleirao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wellington Moreno didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute Denílson Velasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 23 in the game by Rony Paes from a close distance when the talented Hamílton Cardoso managed to make a qualified save. Invernada's players were relieved. 35 minutes into the game, Washington Marinho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Invernada's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tabuleirao the free kick. In the 35th match minute, Invernada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Washington Marinho to maneuver through the defense. Rony Paes succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 41st playminute. A collision led to Tabuleirao getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Wellington Moreno hit a great ball. Luís Paulo Melo kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Tabuleirao's Rony Paes got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 60thth minute of the game Rony Paes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Invernada's Hamílton Cardoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hamílton Cardoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rony Paes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dida Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denílson Velasco in the 65th minute of play. When Júlio Vides fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Invernada's protests and gave Júlio Vides a yellow card for diving instead. In the 66th minute, Júlio Vides hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 68th minute Rony Paes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hamílton Cardoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Wellington Moreno fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tabuleirao's protests and gave Wellington Moreno a yellow card for diving instead. In the 89th minute Rony Paes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hamílton Cardoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rony Paes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 92nd match minute, Invernada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Paulo Melo to maneuver through the defense.
