Igor Maruda started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd match minute, Amigos da Bola was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tostão Toscano to maneuver through the defense. Lucjan Bronder might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Belmiro Mendes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lucjan Bronder ran back to his position shaking his head. Elano de Lima made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Fábio Meirelles in the 7th minute. Belmiro Mendes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. The supporters of Itonia AD booed when Amigos da Bola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. César Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Belmiro Mendes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Igor Maruda in the 15th minute of play. Belmiro Mendes came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Itonia AD's Miguel Medeiros. But to his dismay, Miguel Medeiros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Elano de Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Fernando de Amaral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luís Fernando de Amaral blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elano de Lima having to make a save. Edmundo Vander hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Amigos da Bola's Gernando Capixaba got a free kick in the 27th minute. The supporters of Amigos da Bola booed when Itonia AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adriano Donatello didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 37 played minutes Itonia AD got a freekick which was hit by Aldo Lima. Miguel Medeiros struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Belmiro Mendes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itonia AD. Amigos da Bola's Durvalino Monteiro got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Luiz Fábio Meirelles took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Elano de Lima to make any attempt to save it. After the first half Itonia AD were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luís Fernando de Amaral to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Itonia AD booed when Amigos da Bola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Durvalino Monteiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Belmiro Mendes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Igor Maruda, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fábio Meirelles in the 53rd minute of play forced Itonia AD's goalkeeper Elano de Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Amigos da Bola getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. César Santos hit a great ball. Elano de Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fábio Meirelles, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Waldemar Salles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Elano de Lima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 66 minutes into the match, Igor Maruda had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Belmiro Mendes. Amigos da Bola's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Igor Maruda was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. When Miguel Medeiros came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Itonia AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Miguel Medeiros couldn't finish the play. Belmiro Mendes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Claudinei Quadros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elano de Lima showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudinei Quadros in the 91st minute of the match. Claudinei Quadros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elano de Lima having to interfere. In the 95th minute, César Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Itonia AD were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Amigos da Bola's much stronger midfield.
