The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jerônimo Medeiros during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 10th match minute, Clube Atlético Phoenix was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jerônimo Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute, Amigos da Bola's Luís Fernando de Amaral ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Juarês Marinho. Juarês Marinho yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fernando de Amaral in the 19th minute of play forced Clube Atlético Phoenix's goalkeeper Juarês Marinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Clube Atlético Phoenix's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Fernando de Amaral came free, but Juarês Marinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 41 played minutes Luís Fernando de Amaral rounded Clube Atlético Phoenix's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-0. Amigos da Bola's Belmiro Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaltino Xavier in the 45th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luís Fernando de Amaral was the one to do the kick off. Belmiro Mendes was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Zé Augusto Paraibano. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Clube Atlético Phoenix's goalkeeper Juarês Marinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luiz Fábio Meirelles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomás Tepedino took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 74th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Belmiro Mendes. Amigos da Bola's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 77 minutes into the match, Amigos da Bola's Luís Fernando de Amaral sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Juarês Marinho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Juarês Marinho came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Amigos da Bola's Luís Fernando de Amaral. But to his dismay, Luís Fernando de Amaral quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Tostão Toscano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juarês Marinho having to interfere. If Luís Fernando de Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the game, Artur Mota was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clube Atlético Phoenix's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Amigos da Bola the free kick. Artur Mota hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match.
