Elano de Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dana Dan, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. 23 minutes into the game, Válbson Quirino recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Elano de Lima. Válbson Quirino showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. A collision led to Utopia e Luta getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Dana Dan hit a great ball. Miguel Medeiros might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jorge Matthew. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Miguel Medeiros ran back to his position shaking his head. Luisão Negri charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luisão Negri the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Igor Maruda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jorge Matthew having to make a save. With a little luck, Itonia AD's Elano de Lima got control of the ball when Cenk Kani tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Utopia e Luta defense, Igor Maruda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jorge Matthew. The Utopia e Luta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jorge Matthew should have stopped the shot.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Válbson Quirino was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Utopia e Luta's Jorge Matthew got control of the ball when Igor Maruda tried to sneak it across the goal line. Utopia e Luta's Válbson Quirino got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elano de Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cenk Kani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th minute, Dráuzio Siqueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 59 minutes of play, Utopia e Luta's Válbson Quirino made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elano de Lima was left in no man's land by his defense there! Miguel Medeiros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Utopia e Luta's Ciriaco Aritza was substituted for Aílton Pinho. Utopia e Luta's Ronaldinho Pitta got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ciriaco Aritza struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Elano de Lima didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Utopia e Luta. When Igor Maruda fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itonia AD's protests and gave Igor Maruda a yellow card for diving instead. Igor Maruda kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. A collision led to Itonia AD getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Carlos Alberto Senna hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Válbson Quirino in the 82nd minute of play forced Itonia AD's goalkeeper Elano de Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute Válbson Quirino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elano de Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Utopia e Luta booed when Itonia AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. August Steinnes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucjan Bronder hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match.
