Luís Gustavo Negri might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ubaldo Montae. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís Gustavo Negri ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 13 minutes, Julio Salinas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FIM's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julio Salinas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Raimundo Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Torquimetro FC's Túlio Cruz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmondo Mingione in the 16th minute of play. Torquimetro FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Roberto Zonta scored to the left of an out of position Túlio Cruz, making the score, 1-0. Raimundo Luz scored 1-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ubaldo Montae, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to FIM getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Arnaldo Rocha hit a great ball. Túlio Cruz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmondo Mingione, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Túlio Cruz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roberto Zonta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Raimundo Luz during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Raimundo Luz hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edmondo Mingione to strike the kick off in the second half. 62 minutes into the game, FIM's Arnaldo Rocha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Túlio Cruz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Julio Salinas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Túlio Cruz having to make a save. Edmondo Mingione spun around in front of the goal 66 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Torquimetro FC's goal. A collision led to Torquimetro FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Jaime Alagoano hit a great ball. Ubaldo Montae made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Raimundo Luz sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to FIM getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Túlio Cruz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmondo Mingione, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 88th minute, Roberto Zonta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Túlio Cruz was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-2. In the 93rd minute, Mário da Rocha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ubaldo Montae made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Raimundo Luz sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. FIM had won after a very even match.
