Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Umberto Carneiro took the kick off in the first half of the match. A hard shot 3 in the game by Armandinho Sá from a close distance when the talented Ubaldo Montae managed to make a qualified save. FIM's players were relieved. Ubaldo Montae stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wilson Borges's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Galaxy Team's Benê Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmondo Mingione in the 21st minute of play. Roberto Zonta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Umberto Carneiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ubaldo Montae having to interfere. Edmondo Mingione recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. FIM's Edmondo Mingione got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmondo Mingione in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benê Vale prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Arnaldo Rocha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benê Vale read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edmondo Mingione was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute FIM were awarded a corner. Arnaldo Rocha went to the cornerflag to take it. Ubaldo Montae made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Umberto Carneiro in the 61st minute of play. Edmondo Mingione sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Róbson Porto's late challenge caught a FIM's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Róbson Porto helped the player get up and apologised. Róbson Porto hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Edmondo Mingiones short, quick shot in the 72ndth minute got Benê Vale to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Edmondo Mingione who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Benê Vale when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 80 minutes into the match, Edmondo Mingione dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Benê Vale, 1-2. Ubaldo Montae showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armandinho Sá in the 96th minute of the match. The FIM supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FIM would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
