To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. FIM's Ubaldo Montae played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mateus do Vale in the 26th minute of play. With an all-out effort, FIM's Kléber Trevisan threw himself towards the right post 28 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Zeca Barros, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ubaldo Montae showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giovani Sanches, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Kléber Trevisan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roberto Zonta in the 34th minute of play. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Julio Salinas sped through Paruje SC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Kléber Trevisan.
