FIM's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cubatão FC the free kick. Edmondo Mingione hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Raimundo Madureira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cubatão FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Raimundo Madureira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ubaldo Montae breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, FIM's Roberto Zonta got a free kick in the 14th minute. FIM's Ubaldo Montae played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Durvalino Vianna in the 17th minute of play. In the 21st minute Roberto Zonta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serginho Dracena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Julio Salinas made a precise shot to the right of Serginho Dracena. Cubatão FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 30 minutes into the game, Cubatão FC's Baltazar Sanches nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ubaldo Montae made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmondo Mingione got free with Serginho Dracena in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cubatão FC's Serginho Dracena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmondo Mingione in the 39th minute of play. In the 40th minute Edmondo Mingione shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serginho Dracena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cubatão FC's Serginho Dracena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Zonta in the 47th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edmondo Mingione made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Roberto Zonta notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Cubatão FC's Serginho Dracena. Serginho Dracena was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, FIM's Julio Salinas got a free kick in the 55th minute. FIM were furious when Inge Östlund was red carded, 56 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 57th match minute, FIM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Inge Östlund to maneuver through the defense. Frederico Sarmento kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Roberto Zonta struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Serginho Dracena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FIM. In the 65th minute, Frederico Sarmento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 67th match minute, FIM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnaldo Rocha to maneuver through the defense. 69 minutes into the match, FIM's goalkeeper Ubaldo Montae had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Augusto Pinheiro. Edmondo Mingione hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Cubatão FC's Renan Penha tried to score from far away in the 71st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After having played for 76 minutes, Roberto Zonta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FIM's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roberto Zonta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ubaldo Montae made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nando Neto in the 83rd minute of play. Raimundo Madureira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Ubaldo Montae made a huge save. 87 minutes into the match, FIM's goal looked a bit too open when Nando Neto came free, but Ubaldo Montae reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 91 minutes into the game, Pedro Paulo Vander was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cubatão FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FIM the free kick. A collision led to Cubatão FC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Pedro Paulo Vander hit a great ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cubatão FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for FIM.
