Donato Freire made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 14thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Rafael Mota would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lucas Furtado during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lucas Furtado kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. In the 19th minute of the game Luís Eduardo Pereira made a throw-in which Lucas Furtado played forward. 22 minutes into the match, Dedê Pinho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alan Queirós. Linhares F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dedê Pinho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Donato Freire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Mota having to interfere. Alan Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Furtado, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 30th minute Lucas Furtado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alan Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Donato Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd match minute, SÓCANELA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beto Vasconcelos to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Linhares F.C. defense, Dedê Pinho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alan Queirós. The Linhares F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alan Queirós should have stopped the shot. Mário Quintal hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. When Dedê Pinho came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the SÓCANELA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dedê Pinho couldn't finish the play. César Soares charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed César Soares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. César Soares kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

A collision led to Linhares F.C. getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. César Soares hit a great ball. The supporters of Linhares F.C. booed when SÓCANELA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Beto Vasconcelos didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Linhares F.C.'s Alan Queirós got control of the ball when Lucas Furtado tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rafael Mota made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Freire in the 64th minute of play. In the 66th minute of the game Humberto Vinhas made a throw-in which Dedê Pinho played forward. Rafael Mota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from César Soares, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. When Dedê Pinho fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SÓCANELA's protests and gave Dedê Pinho a yellow card for diving instead. In the 69th minute, Dedê Pinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 70 minutes into the game, Linhares F.C.'s Amadeu Paes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rafael Mota made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. If Dé Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. SÓCANELA's Rafael Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by César Soares in the 96th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SÓCANELA eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
